The FBI Investigation: Kiki Keysers

Kiki Keysers founded Fashion label KIVARI in 2014.
The brand was created from a passion of adventurous travel and connection to our oceans.
Today, KIVARI has 14 stores across Australia alongside a global digital presence and
a curated network of premium retail partners worldwide.

FBI: Before founding KIVARI, you worked as a radiographer.
What gave you the confidence to leave your career and pursue fashion?

Kiki: It wasn’t confidence, it was simply courage to back myself. I don’t think anyone ever feels 100% ready
to walk away from a stable career. I just reached a point where I knew I’d regret not giving it a shot.
I started small, backed myself and took one step at a time. Looking back,
betting on myself was the best decision I ever made.

FBI: Where do you usually find the first spark of inspiration for a new collection?

Kiki: Travel has always been my greatest source of inspiration.
Whether it’s a destination, nature, colour or the people I meet along the way, every collection begins with a feeling.
We don’t start with garments, we start with a story. From there, the colours, prints and silhouettes naturally come to life.

FBI: If you could open the next KIVARI store anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Kiki: There are so many incredible places, but I’d love to see KIVARI in the US.
It’s such an iconic place with an amazing energy, and I think it would be exciting to introduce
more women there to the brand while staying true to our Australian coastal roots.

FBI: What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Kiki: Back yourself. No one is going to believe in your vision more than you do.
There will always be challenges, setbacks and moments of doubt, but if you stay committed,
keep learning and continue showing up, incredible things can happen. Consistency compounds,
and backing yourself is where it all begins.
