Sydney-based designer Anna founded the cult-favorite Australian label ANNA QUAN in 2013.
Initially studying law before transitioning to design, she gained global recognition for reimagining the classic white button-down shirt.
Today, the brand is celebrated for elevated minimalism, sharp tailoring, and high-quality cotton knitwear.
FBI: When you first launched your brand, your main focus was creating signature tailored shirts.
What made you expand from this niche?
Anna: This was based on organic demand from existing and newly acquired customers that had bought into the shirt
and then wanted something else to purchase.
FBI: What’s the most fun part of your design process that people don’t expect?
Anna: Seeing an idea come to life. Creating new and unexpected shapes.
FBI: What piece of advice would you give to emerging Designers?
Anna: Always measure your output and impact at regular cadences and adjust your strategy as needed.
FBI: What’s your favourite city in the world and why?
Anna: Sydney because that is where my family and heart are.
There are many amazing cities I’ve travelled to around the world but at the end of day
it is where I feel connected and grounded.
