FBI Fashion Business Initiative

The Fashion Business Initiative aims to assist FBI entrepreneurs looking to establish their own Fashion business or grow their existing business.

The grant of $10,000 is awarded in a ceremony at the FBI Parade and Graduation held in December. FBI student businesses range from online boutiques, to Fashion PR agencies to designer labels.

Entry is open to past and present students of FBI Fashion College.

Applications are currently closed. FBI Fashion College will advise Students when Applications re-open.

Past Winners

Emma Nott - Ametrine

After completing a Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology with a Diploma of Business at FBI, Emma Nott created Ametrine the label in 2014.

The label’s aesthetic is the combination of minimalist and structured pieces with innovative fabrics to create uniqueness and individuality with a fashion forward edge. Ametrine has quickly become well recognised in the fashion industry since launching, having been featured in Vogue, FOM and Catalogue magazine. The label is also popular amongst Fashion influencers and has been stocked in several stores around Australia.

Kim Hurvitz - Styled by Capital K

Kim currently works in the Fashion industry as a Personal Shopper, Freelance TV and Fashion stylist under her business name; Styled by Capital K. Kim has worked with celebrities such as Sophie Monk, Dena Kaplan and Tegan Martin.

Courtney Harris - Angle Diamond Dot

Past FBI Student Courtney Harris founded the jewellery label Angle Diamond Dot after completing her studies at FBI Fashion College and debuted the label at MBFWA in 2013. The label adopted a unique aesthetic, utilising raw semi-precious stones, smooth sterling silver and gold micron. Angle Diamond Dot gained celebrity fans including Miranda Kerr, Lana Del Rey and Kate Hudson.

Dan Jones - DAN JONES

After his studies at FBI Dan went on to found his own label, blending quality, creative artistry and innovation with finesse and elegance. Dan creates ready-to-wear luxury, bespoke pieces and has now ventured into bridal wear. Having had the privilege of dressing celebrity clients such as Dannii Minogue, Paloma Faith, Tina Arena and Kimora, Dan is known in the industry for his exquisite craftsmanship.

Victoria Cheatham - Lotus Mendes

With a number of years experience designing jewellery for personal expression, Victoria launched the label Lotus Mendes. The label embodies an eclectic fusion of rawness, anarchy, symbolic messages and strong ancient references matched with modern aesthetics.
