The Fashion Business Initiative aims to assist FBI entrepreneurs looking to establish their own Fashion business or grow their existing business.
The grant of $10,000 is awarded in a ceremony at the FBI Parade and Graduation held in December. FBI student businesses range from online boutiques, to Fashion PR agencies to designer labels.
Entry is open to past and present students of FBI Fashion College.
After completing a Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology with a Diploma of Business at FBI, Emma Nott created Ametrine the label in 2014.
The label’s aesthetic is the combination of minimalist and structured pieces with innovative fabrics to create uniqueness and individuality with a fashion forward edge. Ametrine has quickly become well recognised in the fashion industry since launching, having been featured in Vogue, FOM and Catalogue magazine. The label is also popular amongst Fashion influencers and has been stocked in several stores around Australia.
Kim currently works in the Fashion industry as a Personal Shopper, Freelance TV and Fashion stylist under her business name; Styled by Capital K. Kim has worked with celebrities such as Sophie Monk, Dena Kaplan and Tegan Martin.

With a number of years experience designing jewellery for personal expression, Victoria launched the label Lotus Mendes. The label embodies an eclectic fusion of rawness, anarchy, symbolic messages and strong ancient references matched with modern aesthetics.
